WELCOME TO THE SEATTLE TENNIS ALLIANCE!
The Seattle Tennis Alliance is a non-profit USTA Community Tennis Association with roots in the LGBT community. We are about tennis and welcome everyone! We organize tennis events, maintain a challenge ladder, field USTA teams at all levels of play and organize other social events throughout the year. Whether you are a serious competitive tennis player, or just enjoy meeting with others for a friendly social game, we have regular events for you!
If you are interested in being a part of the STA or would like to learn more, visit our ''about us'' page or "Join" to sign up now!
Thanksgiving With The President
This will be a gathering of good friends, as well as an excellent opportunity to introduce yourself to other STA members, and their "plus 1's".
STA members who may not be traveling out of town for the holidays, or have prior commitments, are cordially invited to enjoy a Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner on Capitol Hill, at the home of STA President, Gary Renville.
Turkey and appetizers will be provided. Everyone else bring side-dishes, deserts, beverages or board games to share!
For the exact location STA members can Email President@seattletennisalliance.org
STA Participates in West Coast Cup
For the very first time, the STA had players in the West Coast Cup held this month in San Francisco. The West Coast Cup is a competition among the west coast cities GLTA clubs for bragging rights among 'C' level tennis players. Though we were not able to field our own team of 12, we combined with players from Vancouver B.C., and borrowed a few others to make up a mighty team.
Together we took one singles match and one doubles match and had an amazing time with our sister clubs from San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Congratulations to our players from STA including Korland Simmons, Ken Kramer, Christine Neilson and Gary Renville for a job well done! In 2019 West Coast Cup will be held in San Diego and we hope to fill a full team from Seattle!
STA Challenge Ladder
The 2018 first half challenge ladder grand prix races have just concluded. Congratulations to Ben Killey and Mia Nguyen for winning their respective men's and women's grand prix races. Each wins $50 for their efforts. This also means that the slate has been wiped clean and the 2018 2nd half grand prix races start anew! Challenge your fellow members and earn a little spare change! If you're not familiar with the rules you can find them here!
